Exporting Vietnamese Pepper
Vietnamese black pepper:
Harvested area: 17,400 ha.
Harvest period: from January to May
Main Varieties:
- Domestic pepper: Pepper Se, Quang Tri, Phu Quoc, Ha Tien, Loc Ninh, Dat Do
- Foreign pepper: Sree Chea, Kep, Kanpot (Combodia), Landa Belantoeng (Indonesia).
Curently, Vietnam is one of the biggest black pepper exporting countries in the world. Annually, Vietnam produces about 44,200 tons of Black pepper and the most of volumes are exported to the world. Intimex Import - Export Corporation is indicatedthe leading exporter in this field. In 2004, we exported about 17.000 tons of black pepper with an exporting turnover of $23,000,000 which increase 167% in volume and 166% in value compared with 2003.
Back pepper is packed in new jute bags of: 30 kg, 40 kg, 50kg, 60 kg net each. The weight of the bags depends on either the specific customer's requirements or on the grade of the goods.
Intimex has a system of agri-processing factories, especially Tay Ninh station, fresh exporting pepper agriculture processing factory. These factories process and enhance agriculture quality, also store agri-products for high quality exporting products.
